“I want to feel like I’m close to something real.. I want to find something, I’ve wanted all along.. Somewhere I belong”
The seagull swarm of Haydarpasa, Istanbul.
Haydarpaşa is a railway station in Istanbul, Turkey, located on the Asian side of the city. It was built in 1908 and was the major railway terminal in Istanbul for over a century, serving as the terminus for trains to and from Europe. The station has a rich history, having been used as a military hospital during World War I and as a transit point for refugees during the Balkan Wars and World War II. The station was closed for passenger services in 2013 and is currently undergoing renovation for potential use as a cultural center. Despite its current state, Haydarpaşa is still considered an important part of Istanbul’s cultural heritage and is appreciated for its historical and architectural significance.
